The dishwasher froze again. We went after it with a hair dryer (again), though it's a bit tough in the cracks and crevices. Good news: we thawed it. Bad news: this time the pipe (or some such) burst. So now we have a dishwasher full of dishes, and the shutoff shut off. sigh. I have a bad feeling that the insulation company didn't get that part of the house--they were supposed to do at least some from outside, but I think they did it all from inside. And I know for sure they didn't drill through the backs of the kitchen cabinets. So I think the nice vulnerable back of the house (up on the hill, gets lots of wind) with the pipes right against the wall is the bit that is least well insulated. Bother.
