random funkiness
Oct. 30th, 2007 01:58 pmI'm using Google Earth to pick (roughly, visually) the centroid of an area (Eastern MA, by some definition). I zoomed in and happened to notice "Mosswetusset Hummock". What a wonderful name. It's not really a good centroid for the spots I'm using, but it's pretty good for the region theoretically covered, so.... Go to Google maps, ask for "Mosswetusset Hummock". I get: "Did you mean:
Moswetuset Hummock Park".
I guess, I'm just copying the spelling exactly as I found it. Does Navteq just have a major 'S' aversion? I wonder which underlying data is right? I'd ask google, but that's what got me into this....
Oh, well.
